On 28th August 2013 my Father Shree Krishna Deo Tiwary left for his heavenly abode, leaving the whole family grief stricken. It was the day of Janmashtmi ( Birth Day of Lord Krishna ) according to Hindu Calendar. We normally celebrated this day as an additional Birth Day for our father as His very first name was Krishna. But He chose this very day to leave us behind at around 1.30 PM.
We brought Him home from the hospital and after the necessary rituals went to the cremation ground. In Hindu religion the body must be cremated as soon as possible after the soul has left. The crematorium was totally deserted. Normally at all times some or the other body is at the funeral pyre. But it seems that on that day in the evening the crematorium was completely reserved for Baba. When the funeral pyre was lit after last rituals, every body was in tears.
A good number of people had gathered as they came to know of His departure. One of his close friends Nakul Tiwary received a call and he told the caller “Tiger jal rahe hain””( Tiger is burning ) Baba was known as Tiger in Jamshedpur because of his courage and aggressive approach to His duties. As an Advocate He was darling of Corporates as well as the poor labourers including all poorest people. He always saved CEOs from Court appearance and also vehemently fought for the rights of the poor. He never insisted on Fee from poor clients and looked after their cases with same sincerity. As a matter of ethics, my father never took up divorce cases.
On the occassion of His Shraddh ( last rites ) one of the labour leaders came to us and told us ” You can never be like your father but even if you try to become like him, it will be a great service to the society. ” These words enlightened us even more towards the social obligations and duties that our Father always taught us.
We miss Daddy, His advice and guidance and His affection that He always showered on us. But we also feel His presence around us all the time as if He is watching us from very nearby. It is our personal experience that on critical times He has come to our rescue and retrieved us from difficult times like as always.
