Shri Krishna Deo Tiwary popularly known as K.D. Tiwary was born on 25.12.1930 in Chhapra District of Bihar and graduated from Rajendra College, Chhapra and obtained his B.L. Degree from Bihar University, Muzaffarpur.
He started his career as Labour Enforcement Officer in the state of Bihar and on his transfer came to Jamshedpur in the year 1963. Subsequently he resigned in the year 1967 and joined Jamshedpur Bar Association and started law Practice.
He always believed in long association and maintained highest degree of integrity and sincerity to his profession and as a result he was associated with many corporate organizations as a retainer. He had equal command on Civil Criminal and Labour Law. He always encouraged young lawyers to achieve excellence in profession and maintain dignity of justice delivery system.
He had heart for socialism and was a practicing socialist who always strived for casteless society and equal opportunity. It is to be noted that he did not include the surname to the names of his sons as a reflection of his commitment to a casteless society. He also actively participated in Lawyer’s agitation during emergency and by nature was against dictatorship of every kind.
He left for his heavenly abode on 28.08.2013 on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami and is survived by his wife Smt Kamla Kumari Devi who is retired High School Teacher and three Sons, Arvind Kumar, an I.A.S. Officer and presently posted at Mumbai as Principal Secretary Labour, Govt. of Maharashtra. His second son Ravindra Kumar (Mukesh) is a practicing Advocate at Jamshedpur and his third son Manish Kumar is a practicing Advocate at Jharkhand High Court.
He was also blessed with three grand sons and three grand daughters. His eldest grand Daughter has joined Master of Science in Computer Science in Columbia University, New York while three other grand children are pursuing engineering degrees and two are still in School.
